Art Avantime
From October 2000 to January 2001 works of video art pioneer Nam June Paik were exhibited in an unusual fashion in Cologne, Munich, Hamburg and Berlin. With the support of Renault art collector Thomas Wegner (“Weisses Haus” foundation) was able to develop a tour concept called “Planet Walk” in which he staged Paik’s objects and video installations in a new way. The floor covering under the objects consisted of 18 tons of rock salt. The ceiling above that was equipped with twenty monitors. They followed a defined sequence of movements by means of computer-controlled winches and embodied the moon and the universe. The computer animations that were displayed on the monitors were developed exclusively by fact+film and prepared in cooperation with 4.dimension.
