Ariane 5 - the second attempt

The new Ariane 5 was supposed to be, at least theoretically, an extremely reliable carrier rocket. The European spaceflight industry wanted to use it to further expand its market position in commercial satellite transport.
The responsible persons involved were correspondingly shocked when the Ariane exploded shortly after the launch on 4 June 1996. How could that have happened? Aerospace technicians worked feverishly on an analysis of the cause of the failure. The next launch had to work out, this was plain for all members of the staff.
The film observes aerospace managers and technicians in Germany and France during construction of the Ariane 502. The question is how safety can be enhanced and what happens if the second launch fails, too.
