The second media revolution

When the printing technique was digitized around ten years ago, one referred to a “media revolution”. Will the computer soon change the appearance of television just like the layout of newspapers and magazines?
The first part of the three-part documentary describes the history of television images from film material to video technology. The introduction of analog video editing meant an advance over working with perishable film materials. It could be produced more flexibly and thus with time and cost savings.
The second part of the documentary presents the advantages of nonlinear digital editing and explains the impacts of digitization on broadcasting operations.

Finally the third part takes a look at job outlines and training opportunities. Experts estimate that there is a shortage of approx. 75,000 qualified workers in Germany.
